So I found out this week that they are sending me to the Ukraine! UKRAINE!!! I have to say, Ukraine was my first choice of countries to go to and magically I got it. I also found out that I will be teaching English to secondary students. AND I found out I will be leaving the 28th of September. It is about a month later than I thought I would be leaving, but I suppose that is a good thing. Now I can save a bit more money and have more time to plan everything out.
Previously I had a civilian passport but I had to fill out paperwork for a gov’t issued passport. I also had to apply for a Ukrainian visa. I’m not going to lie: there was a LOT of paperwork. I think that the most painful process of the application was the paperwork. The Peace Corps asked a LOT of questions. Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand why they ask the questions, but after 2 or 3 hours of filling out forms and I need to take a break.
Now that I have all that settled I have to get prepared. I am doing some research on Ukraine to become more familiar with some of their customs and what the climate is like over there (COLD). This whole process feels just like uprooting and moving.
That’s all for now. More when I know more.
